LAWN & LANDSCAPING · TEXAS

52 leads at $17.
15 jobs closed.

A residential lawn and landscaping owner ran founder-led and UGC creative alongside statics. 52 qualified leads at about $17 each across four ad sets — and because a custom form replaced Meta's instant forms, nearly every one booked an estimate.

THE CHALLENGE

Cheap leads that never became estimates.

  • Meta's instant forms produced volume, but the details were careless and a good share of the numbers went nowhere.
  • Polished, stock-style creative looked like every other lawn care ad in the feed.
  • Enquiries arrived with no context, so quoting meant starting the conversation from scratch.
  • Budget was tight — the campaign had to work on hundreds of dollars, not thousands.
WHAT WE DID

Traded polish for proof, and instant forms for intent.

  • Put the owner on camera — founder-led creative doing the selling.
  • Ran UGC-style clips against traditional statics to see which the market answered.
  • Replaced Meta's instant form with a custom form that asked for real detail.
  • Split four ad sets so creative type and audience could be judged separately.
WHY IT WORKED

Friction in the Form Was the Point

1 · A custom form, not an instant form

Meta's instant forms take one tap, so they collect people who were barely paying attention. A custom form asks for a little effort — and the people who finish it are the people who actually want an estimate.

2 · Founder-led creative

The owner on camera, on a real job, in his own words. Homeowners hiring someone to work on their property are buying the person as much as the service.

3 · UGC beat statics decisively

The two UGC ad sets produced 48 of the 52 leads at $13–$16 each. The statics and the base form managed 4 leads between them at $35–$56. The test settled the question in days, not months.

4 · Quality over volume

52 leads is a small number. Fifteen of them turned into paid work, which is the only number that pays wages. Chasing cheaper leads would have improved the first figure and ruined the second.

THE RESULTS

Four Ad Sets, Side by Side

Reported from Meta Ads Manager. Two UGC ad sets carried the account; the statics and the base form were switched off once the gap was obvious.

Ad set breakdown

META ADS MANAGER
Meta Ads Manager reporting for the landscaping campaign showing four Jotform ad sets: the two UGC sets producing 24 leads each at $15.55 and $13.42 per lead, and the statics and base-form sets producing 2 leads each at $34.91 and $55.91, 52 leads in total.

Over $30,000 in revenue on $876.94 of spend — fifteen jobs closed at a roughly $2,000 average ticket. We publish that ratio because it is real, but we treat it as an outlier. The durable takeaway is the 29% lead-to-close rate, and that came from lead quality rather than media volume.

Fewer, Better Leads Beat Cheaper Ones.

If your cost per lead looks fine but your calendar does not, the problem is usually the form and the creative, not the budget. Book a call and we will look at both.
